Environment Heartbeats

The health indicators you see on the Environments dashboard come from small
agents CTO2B runs inside each of your Environments. This article explains what
they are and what to do when one stops reporting.

Agents — shown as Environment Heartbeats in SVIEW — are lightweight
components deployed into each Environment. They report health status back to
SVIEW continuously. They are managed entirely by CTO2B; you do not install,
configure, or update them.

Heartbeat status

The Agents / Heartbeats view shows the active agent for each Environment:

ColumnDescription
NameThe agent identifier, typically matching the Environment name
EnvironmentsWhich cluster this agent monitors
StatusConnected (reporting normally) or Disconnected (no recent heartbeat)
Last seenTimestamp of the most recent heartbeat

Agent disconnected?

A Disconnected status usually means one of two things:

  • The Environment's cluster is down or unreachable
  • The agent is not running in the cluster

If you see a Disconnected status, raise a request naming the affected
Environment and CTO2B will investigate. Do not attempt to restart or reinstall
the agent yourself.
